API filter press refers to a filter press tester with a differential pressure of 0.69MPa, and is mainly used to measure the water loss of drilling fluid and obtain the filter cake formed after filter press. API filter press is widely used in drilling fluid analysis and determination in major oil fields, geological exploration and laboratories.
The instrument consists of the following parts:
Drilling fluid cup: it is composed of drilling fluid cup body, top cover, cup bottom, filter screen, gasket, etc. As shown in Figure 1, the top cover 9 is usually connected with the instrument support by a compression screw.

Working principle
The instrument injects a certain amount of drilling fluid into the cylindrical drilling fluid cup, tightens the cup cover, connects the air source, adjusts the pressure to 0.69mpa, opens the vent valve, and the air source enters the drilling fluid cup. The filter area of the instrument is 45.60 ± 0.60cm2 (1 ± 0.1in2). Record the time of filtration, the amount of filtration after filtration and the prepared filter cake.
